ATTENTION: Managers and HR Professionals Who Want to “Grow” Your Front Line Employees
WHEN: April 16th · Concord, NH
WHAT & WHY: This seminar is the result of input from supervisors, managers, and HR professionals over the last few years about what they would like to see more of in their employees.
It is designed to be a win/win, where the employees you select to attend benefit from a unique professional development opportunity that helps them become more successful, and you benefit by getting a more effective employee with greater leadership potential.
This seminar will help you:
- “Grow” your employees and help them make an even greater contribution.
- Groom your future leaders so you have “internal bench strength” and your employees see you investing in them.
- Provide professional development opportunities to your younger employees (research shows that professional development opportunities are one of the top drivers of employee retention and engagement, and factors determining who they choose as an employer).
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
- 100% Accountability – The key to professional effectiveness and success. What it means and how to apply it.
- Successful Professional Relationships – How to communicate and work more effectively with people who are different from you; how to bring up tough issues in diplomatic, yet straight forward ways; what it means to be a team player; and interpersonal blind spots that stall careers.
- Being an Informal Leader – What it means to be a role model and a leader, regardless of your position. How to be a positive influence on others through your example.
- How To Be A “Dream Employee” – How to become more valuable by knowing what your “customer” (your boss and your employer) values most, based on surveys of what employers want in an employee.
- Emotional Intelligence – Since research shows that EI accounts for 2/3 of job and career success, anyone wanting to grow professionally must know what it is and how to develop it. While other sections will focus on the interpersonal piece of EI, this section will focus on the “emotional self-management” piece: how to maintain an upbeat, positive attitude despite high pressure, dealing with difficult people, and facing difficult circumstances.
- How to Think Like An Entrepreneur…and Provide Maximum Value – Employees who provide the most value have a distinctly different mindset than those who think doing only what they’re told and nothing more is good enough. Borrowing from the world of entrepreneurs, we look at how to use the entrepreneur’s mindset to provide more value to your employer, and therefore… become more valuable.
- Managing and Influencing Upward – How to get your ideas heard and respected; how to communicate openly and respectfully to your boss, so that you help them understand how to bring out the best in you, and you understand what they need from you.
